ABOUT US

Committed to Spiritual Growth

St.James’ Anglican Church is one of the leading congregations in the Dandenong area. We are a multicultural congregation dedicated to serving the spiritual and cultural needs of our parish community. Worship at St James' is traditional Anglican worship based on the current prayer book.

Ministers wear robes, there are candles on the table, and we celebrate the Eucharist, also known as Holy Communion. Contact us, or visit us to learn more about our worship and Christian community.

OUR FAITH

Following the teachings of Jesus Christ, Anglicans are committed to the proclamation of the good news of the Gospel to all creation.

Anglican belief and worship uphold the faith proclaimed in Scripture (the Christian Bible), interpreted in the light of Tradition (the practices and beliefs of the historic church), and Reason (human intellect and experience of God). Anglicans affirm the Nicene and Apostolic Creeds as statements of Christian faith and receive the Book of Common Prayer for guiding their worship services.

Anglicans believe that the Christian life involves regular praise and prayer, both private and public and that Christians must practise what they preach and pray - both on Sundays (the day when Anglicans normally gather for worship) and every day, as they seek to live out their worship.
