Revd Jeffrey Parker (Vicar)
Fr Jeffrey Parker, a brief bio.
My name is Fr Jeffrey Parker and I am the Vicar of St James, Dandenong. My wife’s name is Michelle and we have been married now for some 28 years. We have four children: Prue 25, Penny 22, Thomas 18 and Rebekah who is 15 years old.
We were born and raised in the Newcastle area and have worked in Gosford, Singleton, Beresfield and Forster/Tuncurry parishes, all in the Newcastle Diocese, before coming to Dandenong.
I love following the cricket and rugby league and now that we are in Victoria I am trying to become more familiar with AFL football which is so much a part of people’s lives here.
In ministry my main aims are to have engaging worship, good preaching, a monthly healing service and for the parish to be a place where people can grow spiritually.
I do feel comfortable dressing as a clergyman although this is a little counter-cultural these days. It means that wherever I go, people know that a person of God is near them and the reactions I get to my unspoken witness affirm me in this resolve.
If you would like to experience worship of a mild Anglo-Catholic nature which is true to our prayer book and with good biblical teaching, then St James Anglican Church, Dandenong will gladly welcome you.
